I just couldn't see how watching two grown men bicker and disagree on live television was going to help me decide who to vote for. I get enough bickering with my teenagers at home.

Honestly, if there were a viable third choice, one who didn't engage in bickering and who had a record of fixing broken systems, I'd vote for them.

Politics always leaves me disillusioned.Christiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01447684647722772526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32806324.post-50233626137610307552008-09-30T00:27:00.000-06:002008-09-30T00:27:00.000-06:00I agree with you that Obama's acknowledgment of co...I agree with you that Obama's acknowledgment of common ground with McCain was a positive thing. After years of divisive "us vs. them" leadership, I think our country could really benefit from a president who recognizes and builds on shared values, rather than continually focusing on differences.

I appreciated that in Obama's foreign policy views as well. Whereas McCain wants to take a tough, isolating approach to Russia, Obama wants to build on common goals. Also, McCain wants to build a coalition of democracies to pressure Iran (again, "us vs. them"), while Obama points out that if we want to have any kind of real influence on Iran, we need Russia and China on board, too.

I could go on, but if I'm going to ramble on much more, I should probably do it on my own blog. It's certainly on my to-do list. :)Kimberly Bluestockinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18437063911115422205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32806324.post-3324496378149410452008-09-29T19:24:00.000-06:002008-09-29T19:24:00.000-06:00You sum up the debate so well... Why does this bother me so...Dickeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03528882447816005489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32806324.post-21526096127241460862008-09-29T13:01:00.000-06:002008-09-29T13:01:00.000-06:00What scares me is the people he associates with. ...What scares me is the people he associates with. Sure, there will be change if he's elected. Change can be scary if power is shifted to people with radical ties. I am not dismissing his friend's in this election as unimportant.Slimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18130169455551862393noreply@blogger.com
