Somebody just left a giant box of gifts and an huge, adorable stuffed dog on our porch. There is a card with the box that says, "Love Your Secret Santa."
What fun! We've never been the recipient of anything more dramatic than "Boo" treats on Halloween.
But then the guilt set in. We don't need anything. AT ALL. I know there are probably families in our ward (let alone our community) that could use the help far more than we can. I'm grateful; so grateful, but I hope I haven't some how put across the idea that we weren't going to have a Christmas. There is just so much under the tree . . .
Advice?

Love it! Be grateful! Tell yourself that they chose three lucky families and chose yours soley on the cuteness of the kids -- because they probably DID! What fun!
(We got our first Secret Santa box a couple years ago. I sleuthed out that it was a family that lets us use their tractor to cut and bale our alfalfa. We always pay them for the service, but they always feel like they're "owing" us. In the end, I wish I hadn't tried so hard to find out. It was fun thinking of all the people that it could have been from.)
I agree...love it and enjoy that you and your family were thought of today. ;-)
And, if you want, ponder how you can pay it forward next time (next month or even next week!)
Merry Christmas!
Last year we were the recipients of secret gifts and I felt guilty for a while. But then I decided to just enjoy it--I've been looking for ways to pay it forward ever since then. If your kids didn't see the gifts then you could hide them and redonate them, but if they did you might as well put them under the tree.
I say enjoy it! We've done "Secret Santa" a few times, and it's a lot of fun to think of someone and then give them a secret gift. I'd be sad to know the people we gave to felt guilty (or re-gifted, I always put a lot of thought into it!). Maybe next Christmas your family can think of another family and be a "Secret Santa". :o)
I guess enjoy it, unless you wanted to make sure someone didn't put it on the wrong doorstep by checking with your RS Pres, but hey, that's the RS PRes in me slipping out thinking. "Did we get everyone, Did we find them all?" followed by panicked breaths. ;o)
If you are having a hard time enjoying it, maybe ask the kids to choose some of their own gifts to donate to a shelter or needy family?
