Garden Pictures and Nothing To Say

Okay, I'm totally lying. I have loads to say, but I'm trying to channel some energy into novel-writing this summer. I just finished the most wretched book with the prettiest cover. (I drool a little bit every time I see anything Tiffany-blue and I'm sure that is why I picked it up in the first place.) Just the thought of this book on the best-seller list kind of makes me throw up in my mouth. It was as though somebody had a marginally good idea for a plot, and then forgot to actually do any writing. Oh, and each chapter is between 2 and 4 pages so the book as 75 + ridiculously choppy little chapters. The pain. The horror. The frustration.

Anyway, here are some pictures from our garden, courtesy of Plantboy. I have a lengthy, thoughtful post in the works, but it is taking some time to get my thoughts together in some cohesive fashion. (It could be a very LONG time if I'm waiting for that happy event. . . . )

Um . . . this last one isn't our garden, too bad. It is a place called Alsea falls where Plantboy took the older boys on the father's and sons' outing. In a couple of years, it will be my favorite weekend of the year!

Best of luck with the novel writing!

Your garden is lovely. I wish we could have a garden right now, but as we're in an apartment with hardly a yard to speak of, I don't think that's exactly possible right now... *sigh* Love those flowers, though.

I don't know how long my comment will be because I'm so consumed with jealousy over your garden.

Yep, not long at all. ;)

OH.MY.GARDEN!
(I mean YOUR garden)
I MUST come visit you.
Lovely produce. And flowers.
Except what are those white things that look like carrots? Do they taste like carrots? Or do you just grow albino versions over there?
Wierd.

You have to come over tonight. Dinner is homemade buttermilk biscuits, chicken, fresh beets and creamed peas with new potatoes and sweet onion. Oh, life. is. good.

You're not allowed to talk about such a good dinner when I'm sitting here trying to figure out what to eat for lunch!

Beautiful pics.

I enjoyed the beautiful shots of your produce and flowers, but it was the orange dinosaur in the third photo that really caught my eye. Nice to see reality along with the perfect-looking produce!

Are those carrots . . . white?

Beautiful garden, it looks like I'm not the only jealous one. I'm dreaming of dinner with you. Sorry about the lame book. Have you read "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Pie Society" yet? I think you'll enjoy it.

You drool over Tiffany blue; I drool over other people's veggie gardens. :)

Thanks for your insight about the teaching profession; it had never occurred to that one of the reasons teachers' salaries are so low is because it tends to be a female-oriented job.

Anyway -- I digress. Fun to find your blog.... it has a lovely feel -- and you seem to have a wonderful zest for life. Good luck with your novel!
