Vindicated! (Or Just Vindictive?)

You know how in movies, the girl always gets to really confront her idiot ex and make him look like a fool. This is so the opposite of real life. Most relationships end quietly and if you hear about them again it is okay, or if you never hear about them again it is okay. Other relationships end badly, and usually you hear about that awful person becoming enormously successful. Or you know nothing, which might be worse. Anyway, I heard something this morning about somebody I used to date. Okay, I'll be honest, somebody I nearly married.

I won't repeat it. As triumphant as I feel, I know that I shouldn't because I'm really over all that and spelling it out here will just be too sour grapes for my very mature self. . .

But still.

I'm glad to know that ultimately my character judgment was entirely on and that he is struggling with all the things that I knew would be a struggle had I married him.

After a decade of wondering, today I finally see that it wasn't me. It was him.

Okay, I'm done. Any more will just be vindictive, and then I'll feel yucky instead of euphoric.

Yeah, one of my previous boyfriends is now completely inactive, doing drugs, living with his fiance, popping in and out of schools, etc.

And, I swear, you never would have guessed it in high school.

You really got a good one if I must say so myself. By the way thanks for your comment however I envy your ability to express yourself. I guess pics are my way of expressing myself since writing is very difficult for me. I think I have said the same thing in almost every card to my husband... the one year I copied a hallmark card and he was almost in tears at my wonderful thoughts. Then I had to tell him I didn't really write it but I meant it...I guess that's why they have cards for people like me. Either you have it or you don't...Oh and love the new crayons too!

I love reading your blogs. I'm getting caught up finally since June has been quite busy around here. I love your bean-boy story! I love your comments from Sunday School class (one of the main reasons why I miss having you in our ward) and I love the way you analyze a book and help us to see the layer underneath. Stef's read Goose Girl--I'll have to go dig out her copy and add it to my pile. If you haven't read, "Out of the Dust" by Karen Hesse (I think--check my list), I would recommend it. I think you'd like it.

Closure is a good thing. :)

And even if that guy hadn't headed off into left field, I suspect Plantboy could have beaten him with one hand behind his back.

I "found" my ex-fiance last year and nearly blogged about him complete with Internet linkies.

No, I wasn't googling him. Although I'm not too ashamed to admit that I have googled exes in the past. Instead his name came up in the local paper and then I went to go check it out.

The happiest moment for me? He's only 39 but he looks like he's pushing 55(minimum). That's what living as an unapologetic arse does.....it ages you faster than normal.
